Frequently asked questions

Do the training sessions happen on the gym floor in Evolve Strength?
Yes, we will be sharing the gym floor with the other members of the gym. It's very spacious so there won't be problems finding room for the exercise routines, and in the event a machine we planned to use is taken we'll find a work around or do something else while we wait.

If you prefer a more private experience with less equipment options, my home gym in Ranchlands is an option, or online sessions allow you to train from the comfort of your own home. These are slightly lower cost options as we don't need to rent the gym space.

What should I bring to the session?
Standard workout wear with indoor shoes. During the initial assessments please refrain from wearing overly loose clothing as that makes it harder to see the finer details of your movement patterns.

There is a sauna in the women's change room and steam room in the men's, along with outfitted showers, so if you want to take advantage of those after your session, bring a towel as well.

What ages is this training appropriate for?

The training can be adapted for any age above 7. Note that minors 14 or younger need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian in Evolve Strength.

There is no maximum age. As long as you have means to get to the gym, we can find exercise strategies that will help you maintain and improve your mobility. If you are unable to travel, home visits can be arranged. Please contact us with inquiries about in-home training.

Can sessions be covered by insurance?
Kinesiology can be covered, but commonly it is not. You'll have to check with your insurance plan provider. We have worked with Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims many times before, as Kinesiology is often prescribed as part of the recovery.
I've had major surgery and hardware has been inserted, can this training still work for me?

Yes. We can find ways to work around limitations while supporting the healing process. It is best if you provide us with documentation in images from your medical team so we best know how to progress.

Are all the group classes the same?

The group classes will change depending on the ability levels of the individuals. We will do our best to sort individuals into groups with similar starting points, but regardless the classes will be modified day by day to accommodate

What if I can't commit to a fixed schedule for a long time period?

Firstly, session times can vary week to week. We don't need to always train Tuesday/Thursday at 12pm, for example. It's ideal to have set times most weeks but we can be flexible to accommodate changing schedules.

Each membership has a 1-3 month grace period depending on length of membership term. So if you end up taking weeks or months off at a time throughout the year, you can use up missed sessions in the future by rescheduling them into as an extra to a normal training week, or waiting until the grace period to start using them. Note that each month is pre-paid, you cannot freeze the monthly payments.

What's the cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel a scheduled appointment, please be aware we require notification of cancellation a minimum of 24 hours prior to your appointment. Any cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full amount of the lesson. All purchases are non-refundable.

Members who cancel appointments will have the chance to reschedule them later on in their membership period. Unused sessions will not be reimbursed.
